Raghu College of Pharmacy celebrated Digital India Week in campus on 8th July, 2015. Prof S Veerabhadriah, Correspondent of Raghu Educational Institutions attended as chief guest for these celebrations. Various posters were exhibited to create awareness among the students about the Digital Infrastructure and about e-Governance and Services.
The chief guest gave vast information regarding Digitalization of India and also about the added advantages of it. He also gave the statistics investment made by the government of India (Rs. 4.5 lakh core) and other businessmen. He also told that this programme has potential to generate 18 lakh jobs.
Dr. Jagadeesh Panda, principal of the college explained about the goal of Digital India to the students: To ensure cashless, paperless, non-repudiable and traceable transactions. This would lead to cost-effective and citizen-friendly services, which, in turn, would lead to reduction in corruption, enhanced productivity and improved ease of doing business.
This programme enlightened the students in usage of Digilocker where students can their certificates, about National Scholarship portal and all the students were provided the facility for opening the Digilocaker. All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff took part in this programme.
