NCC Training in Camp (ATC & Other Camps)

Training in NCC camps is a crucial part of a cadet’s development. These camps provide practical exposure to discipline, teamwork, leadership.

Types of Camps in NCC
  1. Annual Training Camp (ATC) – Mandatory for all cadets
  2. Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) – Similar to ATC, includes SD/SW cadets from multiple institutions
  3. Republic Day Camp (RDC) – Held in Delhi, for top-performing cadets
  4. Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) – Military-style camp focusing on field craft, firing, etc.
  5. Nau Sainik Camp (NSC) – For Naval Wing cadets
  6. Vayu Sainik Camp (VSC) – For Air Wing cadets
  7. National Integration Camp (NIC) – Promotes unity and cultural exchange
  8. Adventure Camps – Trekking, mountaineering, parasailing, etc.
  9. Attachment Camps – Cadets are attached to Army, Navy, or Air Force units

NCC training at the college level is structured to be regular, progressive, and comprehensive, aiming to build discipline, leadership, and patriotism in youth. It is conducted throughout the academic year under the guidance of ANO (Associate NCC Officer) and PI Staff (Permanent Instructors from the armed forces).

Duration and Structure
  • Total duration: 3 years (for SD/SW cadets)
  • Parades per year: Minimum 70 parades (each of 40–45 minutes)
  • Classes include both theory and practical components.
